The paper is focused on the processes and factors infuencing borderland in the post-socialistic states of Central Europe and the Baltic region. The post-socialist transition has certain similar impacts on borderland in these states, nevertheless, a distinct differentiation of some of the transition features deserves future attention. The shared as well as differentiating factors are desctribed and examined in the paper.
