DIVERSIFICATION TRENDS IN MOLDOVAN INTERNATIONAL MIGRATION: EVIDENCE FROM CZECHIA AND ITALY

  • Original language description

This contribution deals with Moldova and its migratory patterns - mainly data on stocks and out-flows, while paying special attention to Moldovan migrants' situation in Czechia and Italy. This migratory picture is put into a broader geopolitical and economic context, briefly introducing the economic situation in Moldova, as the main trigger of international migration movements. Recent EU policy towards Moldovans is also outlined. An analysis of Moldovans in Czechia and its labour market and a brief description and explanation of the situation of Moldovans in Italy follow. It is understood that the paper represents a sort of basic "informative study" which may facilitate other analytical attempts.
