Functionalized materials with fluorescent dyes for chemosensor applications
Original language description
We present a fluorescence sensor system for detection of chemical compounds that can be readily integrated into detection parts of present chromatographic devices. Fluorescence sensors are based on either dansyl dye that is immobilized in a polymer functional monolith in a 1.59 mm (1/16'') capillary or a 1,8-naphthalimide dye attached onto a 75 mu m glass beads surface embedded in a capillary. We have measured changes in the fluorescence spectra of the two types of sensors for selected liquid and gas analytes. Observed changes of fluorescence of prepared materials in the presence of selected analytes are promising for potential applications in chromatographic detection.
