    Investigation of the mechanical behavior of compacted bentonite

  • Original language description

    This study deals with the effects of initial dry density and vertical stress on the swelling behavior of compacted bentonite under distilled water infiltration. The tests were performed to explore the influence of vertical stress and initial dry density on swelling strain. The values of swelling pressure determined by swell-consolidation method and constant volume test were compared. Three different stages of the swelling process were analysed.
