Reflection of mining in mining and post-mining landscapes using cartographic sources

  • Original language description

The article compares three selected regions around the towns of Jáchymov, Most and Klad-no, comparing mining and post-mining landscapes on old maps and in modern aviation pho-tography. The three regions differ above all in the type of mining, but also in their historical development as in their current management. The scope of the article is to compare the re-gions and evaluate the changes and consequences of mining for the landscape in different time periods using cartographic sources. Another aim is to use selected old maps and state map series of the three regions to present specific landscape elements in the territories and to discuss the possibilities of these products for the study of mining landscapes.
