The institutional engagement of the Czech diaspora: A comparative case study of Czechs in Austria and Germany versus North America
Original language description
The chapter is part of the collective monograph that by using the examples of the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Hungary examines the policy of Central European countries towards the diaspora in the context of changes after their accession to the EU. With a focus on the hitherto insufficiently researched new Czech diaspora (i.e. the migration of Czechs/Czechoslovaks after 1990), the individual case studies provide a comprehensive description of the contemporary Czech diaspora and at the same time shed light on key questions focused on its current character and specific needs.
