Situated in Central Europe, the Bohemian Massif shows geological structures and rock from nearly all stratigraphic periods. It was formed during the Variscian orogenesis, and preserves sediments of Palaeozoic, Mesozoic and Cenozoic age. The excursions target selected areas of the Bohemian Massif that are of interest to palaeobotanists and palynologists.
