The invited contribution shows the necessity to design global environmental information systems as service oriented systems and presents service oriented development patterns usable in environmental information systems. Service orientation enables the collaboration of environmental information systems with other systems, e.g. with e-government.

V článku, který shrnuje obsah zvaného příspěvku, se dovozuje, že globální enviromentální informační systémy musí využívat sevisně orientované softwarové systémy. Je to nutné i pro spolupráci s jinými systémy, např. e-governmentem. Jsou diskutovány nejdůležitější vzory servisně orientovaného vývoje softwaru.
