Original language description
In the paper we consider random prolate (oblate) spheroids and their random profiles. The limiting distribution of the extremal characteristics of the spheroids is related to the limiting distribution of the corresponding extremal characteristics of theprofiles.

Czech description
V článku uvažujeme náhodné protáhlé (zploštělé) sféroidy a jejich náhodné řezy. Limitní rozdělení extrémů charakteristik sféroidů je vztaženo k limitnímu rozdělení extrémů odpovídajících charakteristik řezů.
