  • Original language description

Service-oriented software systems (SOSS) are becoming central topics of software engineering only now. The crucial elements of the requirements specification of SOSS are discussed as well as the relation between the requirements specification and architecture of SOSS. It is preferable to understand service orientation broader than orientation to web-services and Internet. It is shown that there are several variants of SOSS having different application domains, different user properties, different development processes, and different software engineering properties. It is discussed under what conditions SOSS have advantageous user properties. The conditions imply excellent software engineering properties of SOSS as well. The conditions are user-orientedinterfaces of services, the application of strict peer-to-peer philosophy, the application of the combination of different technologies of communication between services (seemingly obsolete ones inclusive), and autonomy of services.
