Inhomogeneity in spatial point processes - geometry versus tractable estimation
Original language description
Concerning the literature on point processes, by far the most popular option how to introduce inhomogeneity into a point process model is the location dependent thinning (resulting in a second order intensity reweighted point process). This produces a very tractable model and there are several fast estimation procedures available. Nevertheless, this model dilutes the interaction (or the. geometrical structure) of the original homogeneous model in a special way. In the contribution we discuss the variousother options how to define inhomogeneous point process models, which result in point patterns with different type of geometric structure.
