    The severe plastic deformation (SPD) method known as constrained groove pressing (CGP) was used to prepare ultrafine-grained structure in pure aluminium at room temperature. The impact of repeated CGP on mechanical properties was measured by hardness andtensile tests and related to the microstructure development monitored by transmission electron microscopy.
