Mobility of solute atoms in a Mg-Nd alloy studied by non destructive and destructive methods.
Original language description
Solute atoms in Mg-0.7Nd alloy interact with dislocations. This interaction influences the movement of dislocations. It is demonstrated by serrated yielding and a post-relaxation effect (stress increment after stress relaxation). Solute atoms diffuse todislocations arrested at local obstacles and influence damping. The breakaway of dislocations is observed in the strain amplitude dependence of the logarithmic decrement.
