    Although synthetic seismograms can, in many cases, be generated by direct numerical methods, approximate analytical ray-theory solutions are often very useful in forward and especially inverse problems of seismic wave propagation in complex 3-D media. Inthis paper, the frequency-domain zero-order ray-theory Green tensor in a heterogeneous anisotropic elastic medium is derived from the zero-order ray-theory approximation using the representation theorem applied in ray-centred coordinates.
