Ion-molecular reactions are important to fully understand the formation of molecules in the interstellar medium and in atmospheres of planets. One of apparatus, which can study this kind of reaction, is the apparatus of the 22-pole ion trap. This apparatus can measure the reaction rate coefficient of reactions of positive or negative ions with neutral molecules. This contribution is mainly focused on negative ions due to their relatively recent detection in the interstellar medium.
