Original language description
We introduce a novel experimental approach using a cryogenic 22-pole RFion trap to study state-changing collisions between H3+ and H2. The focus is on theprecise control and observation of trapped ions, facilitated by the unique design of theion trap and the implementation of RF modulation to reduce the initial amount of ArH+ions. Time-resolved action spectroscopy is employed to measure the temporal evolutionof H3+ rotational populations. Our preliminary results confirm the effectiveness of ourexperimental setup.
