Measurement of B+ → τ+ντ branching fraction with a hadronic tagging method at Belle II
Original language description
We present a measurement of the branching fraction of B+ -> tau(+)nu(tau) decays using 387 +/- 6 x 10(6) (sic)(4S) collected between 2019 and 2022 withtheBelle II detector at theSuperKEKB e(+)e(-) collider. We reconstruct the accompanying B- meson using the hadronic tagging method, while B+ -> tau(+)nu(tau) candidates are identified in the recoil. We find evidence for B+ -> tau(+)nu(tau) decays at 3.0 standard deviations, including systematic uncertainties. Themeasured branching fraction is B(B+ -> tau(+)nu(tau)) = [1.24 +/- 0.41(stat) +/- 0.19(syst)] x 10(-4).
