古英詩The Wandererにみるキリスト教詩人の役割認識について
Original language description
The Anglo-Saxon church is known to have shown an understanding of some of the ancestral cultural legacies the local people had maintained, thus optimizing them to make its evangelical efforts bear fruit. The rich tradition of oral literature was one of the significant devices that verified that the Christian faith could be confessed in the vernacular language. A crucial semantic change called semantic borrowing took place in the process of creating religious poems out of oral pagan songs.
