The aim of this bachelor thesis is to create a comprehensive picture of the functioning of the district organization of the Union of Antifascist Fighters in Most from 1951 to 1990 based on archival materials, literature, interviews with witnesses and private archival materials of witnesses. In addition to presenting the activities of the Most district organization of the Union of Antifascist Fighters, this thesis also presents the still-living witnesses and describes their life stories with focus on the period of World War II. The life stories were processed with use of oral history. The thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter is dedicated to the history of the Union of Antifascist Fighters at the national level. The second chapter is dedicated to the town of Most, its surroundings and the problems and opportunities that the relocation of the entire town due to coal mining brought to the functioning of the local district organization. The third main chapter is dedicated to the actions of the district organization of the Union of Antifascist Fighters located in Most, it provides an overview of the relationships of individual local organizations with the district organization, the local membership base, organized social events and life stories of individual witnesses. The goal of mapping the functioning of the Most district organization was partially achieved, to a level affected by the limited amount of available sources that relate to the first years of the functioning of the Most district organization. Most of the preserved sources refer to the period after the second half of the 1960s, and this period is given the most space in this thesis. The secondary goal of mapping the lifestories of the witnesses of the Union of Antifascist Fighters was achieved.
