Original language description
This study focuses on the siege of Kostomlaty Castle (Teplice district) in 1434 in terms of written and material sources. Jakoubek of Vřesovice, the Hussite commander of the Žatec-Louny Union, besieged the castle for about three months and finally conquered it. There were two siege camps around the castle, both of which were only designed to block the roads and the castle, with no traces of conquering weapons. Metal detector prospection of both sites yielded a small collection of finds dating from the observed period. © 2023 Masaryk University Press. All rights reserved.
