Illustrating the Usage of Verbs in WordNet: the Class of Self-motion Verbs
Original language description
The paper presents an outline of the procedures for selection and annotation of examples illustrating the usage of verbs belonging to various semantic classes (focusing on verbs of selfinduced motion) in WordNet and the use of the annotated examples to validate the semantic and syntactic descriptions of the respective verbs as represented by the FrameNet valence patterns. This is done by complementing the information encoded in the synsets with conceptual information from FrameNet through the assignment of FrameNet frames and the associated valence and syntactic patterns.
