In-situ polymerized polyaniline films
Original language description
Electric properties of in-situ polymerized polyaniline films are studied. The properties of the film and bulk polyaniline (emeraldine) hydrochloride are only little dependent on the reaction conditions if the ammonium peroxodisulfate-aniline molar ratio<=1.5, reaction temperature <50 °C and the acidity of the medium <3.0 M hydrochloric acid. The average electrical conductivity of the films prepared under these conditions was (17.7+10.5) S/cm whereas the conductivity of corresponding bulk samples was (13.0+4.6) S/cm . The electrical conductivity of the films produced by in-situ polymerization of aniline is thus the same as that of the polyaniline hydrochloride powder produced simultaneously. Outside the limits of above reaction conditions, the electrical conductivity of both film and bulk polyaniline has decreased.
