Phase transition in swollen gels. 27.Effect of negative charge concentration on swelling and mechanical behaviour of poly(caprolactam)gels
Original language description
Ionized networks of N-vinylcaprolactam, copolymerized with charged comonomer and crosslinker, were prepared by radiation polymerization. Swelling and mechanical behaviour in water was investigated as a function of temperature. The swelling can be in thefirst approximation described by the theory of polyelectrolyte networks in which repulsion of charges on the chain and finite chain extensibility are considered.
