Inclusion of pelvis girdle muscles, trunk and lower extremity muscles during nording walking
Original language description
The study analyzes the dynamics of coordination of selected pelvis girdle muscles, trunk and lower limb muscles during Nordic walking and free bipedal walking. It is an intra-individual comparative analysis using surface electromyography (EMG) in combination with the surface kinematography with the help of the synchronized video record. With the six tested persons we have proved different timing of muscles in Nordic walking and free bipedal walking. We have found common activation of contralateral muscles m. latissimus dorsi and m. gluteus maximus, which indicates functional diagonal interconnection of muscle chains. However, results suggesting decreasing demands on pelvis stabilization during Nordic walking are more important.
