  • Original language description

    The article si focused on two anniversaries of Charles University in Prague (1848, 1948) which were planned as the nation-wide celebrations. Both celebrations were carefully prepared, but both were in radical way influenced by the unexpected political events. Despite of it the anniversaries are still present in the Prague university tradition because of the valuable works of art, publications and the reconstruction of the oldest university building (Carolinum).
