The article introduces a conceptual framework of environmental security. The authors propose applying the DPSIR framework (often used for environmental reporting) to the environmental security management. If the framework is made operational by indicators appropriately chosen for given time and spatial scales, it may be used as an early warning system to indicate urgent risks or reveal possible "time bombs" created in the environment
