Cortical activation in self-paced versus externally cued movements:a hypothesis
Original language description
There are more corticalregions that are activated when the movement is cued (e.g.ipsilateral primary motor cortex). There are areas that are active predominantly when the movement is self paced but only rarely when it is externally cued (e.g.cingular cortex). An impairment of these areas could contribute to the motor blocks.
