Association of gelatinase a (MMP-2) and endothelin-1 gene polymorphism with plaque psoriasis.
Original language description
The aim of the study was to associate two polymorphisms in gelatinase A (MMP-2, C(-722)T) and endothelin-1 (G8002A) with plaque psoriasis. Expansion of dermal microvasculature is a prominent feature of psoriasis. Our results seem to confirm hypothesis that angiogenesis and chronic inflammation, both involved in psoriasis, are codependent, even from genetical point of view. This link could include both augmentations of cellular infiltration and proliferation and overlapping roles of growth factors and cytokines.
