Matrix metalloproteinase-1 (MMP-1) is a potent enzyme degrading extracellular matrix, which was implicated in the pathogenesis of chronic periodontitis. Therefore, the aim of our study was to examine the association between three promoter polymorphisms of the MMP-1 gene and chronic periodontitis susceptibility and/or severity in a Czech population.

Czech description
Matrix metaloproteináza 1 (MMP-1) je enzym degradující extracelulární matrix, který se účastní patogeneze chronické parodontitidy. Cílem naší práce bylo analyzovat asociaci mezi třemi promotorovými polymorfizmy v genu pro MMP-1 a náchylností ke vzniku chronické parodontitidy a/nebo její závažnosti v české populaci.
