Long-term changes in cardiovascular regulation in paediatric oncology pacients

Original language description

Due to the successful treatment of paediatric oncology patients, the question arises, as to whether the treatment has a long-term effect on blood pressure regulation. The aim of the sutdy was to compare the differences between healthy subjects and paediatric oncology patients, with or without cardiotoxic anthracycline therapy. We followed the long-term decrease in systolic and diastolic blood pressure in subjects after oncological therapy with anthracycline. This could be a result of decreased sympathetic activity, which could be associated with anthracycline. Surprisingly we found changes in SBP and DBP and PIvariability together with unchanged BRS. This is probably due to increased oscillation of vasomotor activity (primarily higher blood pressure variability and unchanged BRS, manifest in higher heart rate variability).

Dlouhodobé změny v kardiovaskulární regulaci u pediatrických onkologických pacientů

Czech description

Díky úspěšné léčbě dětských onkologických pacientů se otevírá otázka, zda má léčba dlouhodobý efekt na regulaci krevního tlaku. Dlouhodobě jsme pozorovali pokles systolického i diastolického tlaku u onkologických pacientů léčených antracykliny. To může být výslekem poklesu sympatické aktivity jako důsledek vlivu antracyklinů. Překvapivě jsme našli změny ve variabilitě tepových intervalů, ve variabilitě systolického a diastolického krevního tlaku bez významných změn baroreflexní senzitivity. Pravděpodobně se jedná o vliv zvýšené oscilace vasomotorické aktivity (primárně vyšší variabilita tlaku a nezměněná baroreflexní citlivost se projevila zvýšenou variabilitou srdeční frekvence).
