Adsorption and two-dimensional condensation of nucleic acid components and oligonucleotides at the electrodes.
Original language description
In 1965 we have discovered, that purine and pyrimidine derivatives currently occuring in nucleic acids posses an extraordinary high ability of self-association at the electrode surface and can form there by a two-dimensional condensation a monomolecularself assembled monolayer, a compact film. By this high condensation ability nucleic acid bases differ from most of the other purine and pyrimidine derivatives which currently do not occur in nucleic acids. This property was probably significant for the origin of life at the Earth.
