Cardiovascular signals in diabetes mellitus: a new tool to detect autonomic neuropathy.

  • Original language description

Our data on diabetic patients indicate that heart rate variability (HRV) complexity analysis provides a very sensitive tool to assess autonomic dysfunction in these patients. Patients with diabetes mellitus show impaired bradycardic responses, a prolonger baroreflex time delay and a decrease in the synchronization level between blood pressure and heart rate fluctuations.
