Diagnostika, léčba a profylaxe pneumocystové pneumonie u hematologických nemocných. Doporučení odborníků s podporou CELL
Original language description
Pneumocystis pneumonia is a serious complication affecting immunosuppressed patients. This article briefly summarises the basic principles and recommendations for diagnostics, treatment and prophylaxis of this condition in haematological patients. A detailed analysis of this issue is contained in the respective chapters of this supplement. Due to the fact that on the global scale the majority of patients suffering from pneumocystis pneumonia are HIV positive, most of the published data and recommendations are concerned with this group. In haematological patients, pneumocystis pneumonia is a rare diagnosis with a significantly different clinical course, which means that the standard procedures applied in HIV positive patients do not work very well for HIV negative population.
