Registers of Pressure Sores in an International Context - Literature Overview
Original language description
Aim: The aim of the present study was to seek for the presence of the registries of pressure ulcers (PU) incidence and what data they collect. Method: The research had the character of a structured literature review. Articles focusing on the problem area of PU registries were searched out by means of a systematic trawl through various databases using the relevant terms. The search was limited to articles in English issued between 2010 and 2015 in electronic databases SCOPUS and Nursing OVID. Results / Discussion: In total, 2 papers fulfilling the basic criteria were found. There is only one national register for monitoring of patients with non-healing wounds in general, not only for decubitus lesions in Sweden mentioned in reviewed scientific papers. Conclusion: According to available information from review it was recognised that only one register of PU currently exists at the national level in Sweden - Register for Ulcer Treatment - RUT.
