Keynote lecture: The effectivness and safety of hyperbaric oxygen therapy for chronic diabetic foot ulcers: an overview of systematic reviews with de novo meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.
Original language description
Chronic non-healing daibetic foot ulcers are often associated with hypoxia, insufficient perfusion, and low oxygen consumption. Hyperbaric oxygen herapy (HBOT) has been shown to increase tissue oxygen supply, vasculogenic stem cell levels and proliferation, and accelerate wound healing. The aim was to assess the effectivness and safety of adjuncive systematic HBOT for chronic DFU compared to the best standard care using an overview of systematic reviews methodology.
