    Notes on Diaereme

  • Original language description

The goal of the paper is to give a few notes on diaereme (juncture). The phonological function of diaereme is signalization of boundaries between grammatical units, usually words. The paper is concerned with different realizations of diaereme and its relation to accent, particularly in Czech. At the end of the paper there is a brief appendix on the origin of the word "diaereme".
