Feeling the kneeling
Original language description
The ultimate goal of my project is to explain why different rituals use different bodily position and how can those positions influence the outcome of a ritual. In more concrete way I am trying to find out if and how the bodily positions influence feelings, emotional states and self-perceptions. First bodily position to be examined is kneeling. This position is used in many variations in different rituals, but in any context it is linked with subordination, humility and submission.
