Who is the author here? On the authorship of film adaptations in Czech cinema of the 1960s

  • Original language description

The aim of this paper is to examine the phenomenon of authorship of adaptations exemplified by films created in Czechoslovakia in the 1960s. Besides delineating the social, political and partly also economic transformations of the 1950s and 1960s, this paper will focus on the production culture of the period, especially the work of production teams that were a part of the Barrandov film studio. The second half of the paper concentrates on the work of young filmmakers of the coming generation and on František Vláčil.
