Christ’s Fluid Face
Original language description
The article studies various ways of portraying the Christ since the early medieval period up to seventh century. Herbert L. Kessler examines many examples of Late Antique and early christian images of Christ, and based on the preserved theological writings and historical documents explains their underlying differences and fundamental visual patterns. Finally, he provides an insight to the issues of one, unquestionable and steady likeness of Christ, which is widespread till nowadays.
