The case of Tocharian ‘silver’ : inherited or borrowed?
Original language description
The present study analyses the Tocharian designation of ‘silver’ from both the morphological and the etymological point of view. The existing etymologies are summarized, discussed and found unconvincing. For this reason, a new etymological solution is proposed, assuming the Sogdian origin of Tocharian "silver".
