Chained or Free Words and Thoughts (Linguistic expressions of political correctness)
Original language description
The paper deals with the linguistic representation of the idea of political correctness. Political correctness has two dimensions that are interrelated and indivisible – the former relates to the social public relations and treatment of people without prejudice and without discrimination, while the latter refers to linguistic expression of this attitude, with lexical stock and scope of the vocabulary, which is also called politically correct language. We study the history of the idea of political correctness as a social movement and as language restrictions. Various views are presented - from insincerity, hypocrisy to restriction of hate speech.
