Original language description
The aim of the intervention was to present the main research directions in the frame project. The subject of the research is the Italian historiography on the medieval South-Caucasian region between the 19th and 20th century. It will focus initially on the 19th century travelers' accounts, then the art-historical publications during the inter-war period and, finally, on the flourishing of the studies in the from the 1960s. A special focus will be put on visual sources and photographs, as well as on the role of the Armenian community in the development of the studies in Italy.
