Japanese Digital Games in Czech Media Discourse
Original language description
In this paper we examine the reception of Japanese digital games in Czech game press of the 1990s (speficically the magazines Excalibur, Score, and Level). First, we describe the conditions that infulenced the entrance of Japanese games to the Czech market and subsequently we trace the shifts in their perception from the "weird other" to a gradual acceptance by the end of the 1990s.
