“Good and bad darga” in Dariganga Memory
Original language description
The study clarified some aspects of Mongolia’s public values and traditions from 1921 to 1990 based on Dariganga memory using research methods of administrative science. The imperial rule, which existed for several centuries in Mongolia, was replaced by the people’s administration in the 1920s. Thus, under the support of the Mongolian People’s Revolutionary Party, elected and appointed leaders took over a leading role in the society of the Mongolian People’s Republic from aristocrats. Heads (lit. Darga nar) governed various stages of state administration when the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd constitutions of MPR were valid. Leaders who worked in the Dariganga region of Sukhbaatar province are evaluated into three categories: good, medium, and bad. Depending on the size of the paper, I will present some interesting issues related to the heads of Dariganga, namely Avirmed and Molom, at the conference. The reason for this, 1. Many people have criticized all activities of authoritative leaders during socialism as wrong since the democratic transformation in 1990. Moreover, a few dargas were estimated as traitors from the MPRP and the state and were sharply punished before the democratization. However, some leaders who led parties, district collectives, and other offices in the local area are rated as “good heads” in our research. 2. In the socialist period, people selected by party and state criteria were employed as leaders. As a result, the provincial party committee of MPRP appointed a few heads to leadership positions through county organizations. They were praised as good leaders at that time. Nevertheless, some leaders are evaluated as “bad heads” in Dariganga’s memory.
