Andamanese languages : Lexicostatistic comparison
Original language description
The purpose of the contribution is to study several topics: A. Mutual relations of the individual Andamanese languages. B. The relationship between Onge-Jarawa and Great Andamanese. C. Chronological estimations regarding the disintegration of the various groupings' respective ancestral languages. The result of the glottochronological test between the languages of the Great Andaman and South Andaman varies between 5200 and 4300 BCE. It means, the chronological depth of disintegration of the Andamanese language family is comparable with the dating of disintegration of the Indo-European or sino-Tibetan language family.
