Population development in Slovakia has undergone several unique and historically unique changes between the Spanish flu and covid-19 pandemics, which have not only significantly affected its character and the functioning of Slovak society, but will also significantly influence its future direction. It is precisely to reveal the main developmental features and transformational changes of each demographic process, as well as to indicate some of their main conditionalities, that this publication attempts to reveal. It is the result of more than twenty years of research by two leading scholars in the field of historical and modern demography in Slovakia.
