Half a millennium of continuity : the resilient boundary in the Czech cultural landscape and its impact on socio-economic development

  • Original language description

The article documents the long-term continuity of the historical boundary between the Jihlava and Třešť estates, preserved from the mid-16th century to the present. Analysis of field and historical data shows that the boundary was a key factor in shaping socio-economic relationships—particularly during the transition from silver mining to agriculture—and defined administrative spheres of influence in the region. The research also identified traces of deserted villages and their administrative divisions, within which the boundary was established, allowing reconstruction of the historical organization of the landscape. The results demonstrate that the boundary is an important indicator of institutional memory, landscape stability, and the resilience of historical structures.
