The Czech Republic lacks a legal regulation that would present a satisfactory solution to the problem of old environmental damage on a genereal level. A generally valid legal definition of the term "old environmental damage" or "old contamination" does not exist in our legal system. Certain aspects of old environmental damage are delimited as a basis for the approache to legal analysis of this problem.
