    This contribution deals with the process of recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments within the European Area of Justice. It focuses on such process in civil and commercial matters under the provision of Regulation (EC) No. 44/2001 on jurisdiction and the recognition and enforcement of judgments in civil and commercial matters ("Brussels I Regulation"), Regulation (EC) No. 805/2004 creating a European Enforcement Order for uncontested claims and Regulation (EC) No. 1896/2006 creating a Europeanorder for payment procedure.
