Original language description

This contribution deals with the legal environment for foreign investments in the People`s Republic of China. China became the member of the WTO in 2001 and as a member is required to perform duties and obligations. In the field of legal framework, it has resulted in new enacted laws or amendments to laws on trade, taxes and intellectual property rights. The first part of this article is focused on legal framework for foreign direct investments. The following two parts deal briefly with issues which arerelevant for foreign investors: the tax law and the protection of intellectual property rights.
